Well, yesterday was the the famous hat toting, derby wearing, money betting Kentucky Derby/2012. It was a great 2 minutes, as it is usually. I sat and watched as Bodemeister basically dominated the race, kind of secretly drawing a conclusion that he was going to be the Winner in this one, as I’m sure I was not the only one with that thought.
In the final stretch, you could see, in the rerun of the race. that this under estimated Equine(I’ll Have Another) was going to present a challenge to the Bodemeister lead. What a great story told afterwards on the history of this animal.
Bought for only 35,000 or 11,000? dollars, according to articles on Google, he certainly increased his value in that short 2 minutes! His Jockey seemed to also coincide with the story of under estimation. The emotions were high after his win, understandably so. His first time at the Derby and winning from post #19 (never been done) he certainly was worthy of a few tears!
Ironically, an original resident from Mexico won the most prestigious race on Cinco De Mayo! Good for him, and Good for the 3 yr old Colt! In the words of his Jockey- He’s an amazing horse-
